The Ann Arbor Symphony's 80th Anniversary Season concludes with
a commissioned workd by U of M Composer Even Chambers on the Huron River Watershed
as a metaphor fo rthe Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra's standing in this region and its history.
Local virtuoso cellist Anthony Elliott mounts the stange with Shostakovich's popular and colorful
concerto, which is relentless and lyrical. And we conclude this landmark season with Mahler,
evoking a child's vision of Heaven- sung by soprano, Katherine Larson.
